Tracheobronchial (airway) stents are those devices utilized to splint narrowed airways open. The narrow or stenotic, airways result from abnormal granulation tissue, metastatic cancers, lung cancer, tuberculosis, infections, lymphoma, or other inflammatory diseases. Stents are somewhat cylindrical in shape and also can be deployed by a bronchoscope.
