Ferrite sleeve, also known as ferrite bead, is small cylindrical device made of a ferrimagnetic material that is used to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) in electronic circuits. This is typically placed over cables or around components to reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation that is emitted from the circuit. Ferrite sleeve work by providing a high impedance to electromagnetic fields at specific frequencies. The ferrimagnetic material inside the sleeve is composed of small particles of iron oxide, which are arranged in a specific way to create a magnetic field that opposes the incoming electromagnetic field. This effectively "shorts out" the electromagnetic field, reducing the amount of radiation that is emitted from the circuit. It is passive, inexpensive and have wide operating frequency range making them suitable for use in a variety of applications.

In August 2022, Murata has introduced a series of chip ferrite sleeves, called the BLE32SN series, that have a 20A current rating. The BLE32SN series has a proprietary internal electrode design that increases the electrode volume of these chips compared with those using a conventional arrangement. It has resulted in a significant lowering of their DC resistance, thus reducing heat generation and the need for thermal management. The ferrite sleeve is available in different temperature rating and is suitable for AEC-Q200, powertrain/safety and nonautomotive use. For Murata, this new product launch is expected to help them to capture a share of the growing market for high-current ferrite beads and further to strengthen their position in the automotive electronics market.
