The nano therapy is referred to as a branch of nanomedicine, which is involved in the use of nanoparticles to deliver a drug to a given target location in the body for the treatment of the disease through a process known as targeting. It has gained better popularity as compared to other conventional methods as it promises to give high precision when it comes to administering therapeutic formulations. In the process of nano therapy, the carrier drug is protected from the degradations, that allows it to reach the given target cells in the body for a local effect. The advantage with the nano therapy over the other therapies is that it offers targeted therapy in which the molecules are delivered to the affected cells in order to help in treatment of the disease that too without causing other negative effects to the healthy cells. The second advantage is that they have larger surface area which makes them possible for multiple functional group addition at the surface. In this, each of the functional group contributes to the effectiveness of this method of the therapy. Nanoparticles are designed in the way that allows the drug to remain adhered till it reaches target site or the cells. They are very much sensitive to the internal environment of the cancerous cells.

COVID-19 Scenario Analysis:

Pharmaceutical and biotech companies together with governments around the globe are working to address the COVID-19 outbreak, from supporting the development of vaccines to planning for medicines supply chain challenges. Currently, around 115 vaccine candidates and 155 molecules are in the R&D pipeline. Moreover, commonly used drugs such as Hydroxychloroquine have witnessed dramatic surge in demand for the management of COVID-19. Such high demand for these drugs has presented huge opportunity for manufacturers of COVID-19 management drugs, as many developed countries are short of these drugs. Owing to the demand for vaccine and treatment drugs for COVID-19, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry is expected to witness a significant growth in the future.

Top impacting factors: Market Scenario Analysis, Trends, Drivers, Impact Analysis

Increase in prevalence of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other metabolic diseases and simultaneously rise in number of patients with these diseases are expected to increase the growth of the market. Increase in the demand of the better treatment by the population also increases the growth of the market. Moreover, various development in the technologies and new product launches are also propel the market growth. Furthermore, increase in the government initiatives for the development of the nano therapy can also help to increase in the growth of the market. Increase in the health care expenditure has helped to fuel the growth of nano therapy market.

However, the lack of regulatory standards in the examination of nano therapy and also the high cost of the treatment is expected to hamper the growth of the nano therapy market.

New product launches to flourish the market:

In May 2019. The scientist from the Indian Institute of Technology, have designed the new and hybrid nanoparticles made up of gold and lipids to treat the cancer.

In September 2019, the new anti-cancer nanomedicine useful for targeted cancer chemotherapy was developed by three partner researchers namely Finland’s University of Helsinki, Abo Akademi University and China’s Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Surge in the usage of nano therapy products:

The increase in the prevalence of the diseases like cancer, diabetes and other metabolic diseases and increase in the awareness of the treatment of the diseases is helping to surge the usage of nano therapy products.
