Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure used to visualize and treat problems inside a joint by orthopedic surgeons. In this procedure, an orthopedic surgeon makes a small incision in the patient's skin and inserts pencil-sized instruments that comprise a lighting system and a small lens to illuminate and magnify the structures inside the joint.
