Coating pre-treatment is the process of cleaning, rinsing, and drying metal surfaces before the application of powder coatings. This pre-treatment offers longevity by putting a stop to the metal from exterior weathering and rusting. The three prime steps performed during the pre-treatment process include removal of oil, grease, and dirt, removal of the outer oxide layer, and formation of the pre-treatment layers. A coating is a covering that is applied to the surface of an object, usually referred to as the substrate. The aim of applying the coating may be decorative, functional, or both.
