An electrochemical device called a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is a device that converts fuel to electricity directly by oxidizing that fuel in an electrochemical reaction. Solid oxide fuel cell uses a solid oxide electrolyte which conducts negative oxygen ion from the cathode to anode.
