Carrageenan is an additive and a natural ingredient derived from red seaweed or Irish moss that is used to caramelize, thicken, and preserve food & beverages. It is a soluble fiber that makes certain foods more nutritious by assisting low-sugar and low-fat options and tastes as good as their counterparts for sugars. Carrageenan finds its application in are yogurt, meat products, and nut milk.
