The chemical compound diethylenetriamine, also known as 2,2'-Iminodi(ethylamine), has the formula HN(CH2CH2NH2)2. Water and polar organic solvents are soluble in this colourless hygroscopic liquid, but simple hydrocarbons are not. Diethylenetriamine is a diethylene glycol structural equivalent. It has chemical characteristics that are comparable to ethylene diamine, and it has similar applications. It's a weak base with an alkaline aqueous solution. DETA is a by-product of the ethylenediamine manufacturing process from ethylene dichloride. In epoxy adhesives and other thermosets, diethylenetriamine is a typical curing agent for epoxy resins. When it reacts with epoxide groups, it becomes N-alkylated, creating crosslinks. DETA has been tested for use in the US Office of Naval Research's Countermine System, which would use it to ignite and destroy the explosive fill of land mines in beaches and surf zones.Â

Top Impacting Factors
Automobile, oil & gas, polymer, construction, agricultural, personal care, and other significant industries have recently increased their demand for diethylenetriamine. The global market for diethylenetriamine is predicted to experience growth due to the aforementioned factor. Diethylenetriamine is used in the automotive sector to make a variety of resins, additives, and lubricants that are used in the production of automobiles. Diethylenetriamine is also in high demand in the oil & gas industry as lubricants and chelating agents in the form of oilfield chemicals. In the coming years, the production of application-specific and high-quality diethylenetriamine compounds is anticipated to experience an increase. As a result, investments in the production of diethylenetriamine are expected to be driven by these needs. The development of bio-based polyamines necessitates the use of diethylenetriamine as a raw material, resulting in market expansion. However, due to rigorous environmental rules imposing restrictions on the use of dangerous compounds, it is projected that the diethylenetriamine market will slow considerably. It should be observed that diethylenetriamine is hazardous to the skin and eyes due to its corrosive properties. Several regulatory authorities, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), have imposed rigorous limitations on the use of diethylenetriamine because it poses a number of serious dangers. In recent years, regulatory organisations around the world have begun investigating the transport and storage of diethylenetriamine.
