Esomeprazole is a compound isomer of omeprazole that is administered in the magnesium salt form. It is sold under the name of Nexium and used for the treatment of esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer, reduces stomach acid and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. The route of administration of esomeprazole is oral or injected directly into vein.
