Genomics is the study of genes and their functioning. The Transcriptomics is said to be the study of transcriptomes, the complete set of RNA transcripts produced by the genome at any one time. Surge in mergers and acquisitions to boost the market

In December 2018, 10x Genomics announced the acquisition of Stockholm-based Spatial Transcriptomics, a pioneer in the emerging field of spatial genomics.
