An organic solar cell (OSC) or plastic solar cell is a type of photovoltaic that employs organic electronics, a branch of electronics concerned with conductive organic polymers or small organic molecules, for light absorption and charge transport in order to generate electricity from sunlight via the photovoltaic effect. Organic solar cells are also known as "plastic solar cells" or "polymer solar cells." They can even be made into solar-powered windows. Two semiconducting layers made of plastic polymers and other flexible materials make up a typical organic solar cell. The cell generates electricity by absorbing photons, which are light particles.
