Starch in plastics is extensively used as an ingredient for improving biodegradation content. In addition, starch being a low-cost alternative to petro-based plastics is widely utilized to develop edible, biodegradable, and active films by blending it with polyester such as polylactic acid (PLA) to obtain a blend film.
