Super Hard Materials Market Overview

Super hard materials are defined as the materials who sehardness valueis more than 40 gigapa scal (GPa) when estimated by Vickers hardness test. The hardness of such material is related to its elasticity, in compressibility, and resistance to change in shape.Super hard material is classified into two groups intrinsic and extrinsic group. The intrinsic type comprises of cubic boron nitride (c-BN), diamond, carbon nitrides & ternary compounds, and extrinsic type includes nanocrystalline diamond, which bears super hardness and other mechanical properties when compared with intrinsic group materials. These materials have high shear modulus, bulk modulus, and does not show plasticity. Super hard materials are synthesized under high-pressure and high-temperature by optimizing energy and in expensive materials.
