Transcritical CO2 Systems Market Outlook - 2026 

Transcritical CO2 systems, also known as TC CO2 systems, are used for refrigeration & air conditioning in busses & trains, water chillers, beverage coolers, chest freezers of ice creams, refrigeration systems in supermarkets, and several other industrial & domestic applications. These systems use carbon dioxide as fluid for heating and refrigeration purpose, since CO2 is safe and environmentally sustainable. Transcritical CO2 systems are nontoxic, non-flammable, and chlorine-free, and have low critical temperature (31.1°C) as compared to traditional refrigerants. These systems have low leakage rates, minimal ozone depletion potential, and negligible global warming potential. They are low in cost and more energy-efficient as compared to fluorocarbon refrigerants.
