A wire feed system is used to provide a constant feed of wire in soldering and welding processes to join metals. The wire feeder system is an advanced mechanical technique which includes print motor, wire feeding mechanism, wire spool shaft, and rotatable torch holder. The different types of wire feeder systems are pull system, push system, and push-pull system. In pull system the wire is pulled by the drive roll towards the welding torch, whereas in the push system the wire is pushed towards the welding torch. In case of push-pull system both the actions take place simultaneously. The wire feeder systems are usually implemented on robotic welding machines to perform automatic welding by enabling automatic feeding of welding wires.
