Hydrophobic coatings, also known as water repellant coatings, are thin layer of waterproof materials on the substance. On the basis of type of material, the global hydrophobic coatings market is segmented into polysiloxanes, fluroalkylsilanes, fluoropolymers, and others. Silicone resin used in coating imparts several benefits such as enhances the durability of paint and offers weather resistance in paints for exterior surfaces. Silicone also provides water repellence to masonry surfaces, which includes stone and brick. Silicone resins have greater resistance to high temperatures than organic resins and are used in applications, such as ovens, chimneys, car exhausts, and barbecues. Growth in production facilities, strong industrial base for construction, consumer goods, and automotive sectors, are the factors that contribute to the growth of the silicone coatings market in this region. Siloxane resin are used as a cross linker for coating formulations to improve flexibility, heat resistance, acid resistance, and wet adhesion of the coatings.
