Stove radiant heating elements facilitate the transfer of heat up to your pot or pan through the flat top solid surface. The radiant heat elements involve a more physical process as the heat passes through every element between the burner and the component to be heated. The radiant heating elements are embedded below the cooktop and as the electricity passes through these elements, they send the heat in waves to the cooktop and further to the component to be heated (i.e. typically, utensil and food). The heat transfer takes place without significantly warming the surrounding air. The radiant heating elements are of two types, namely, ribbon radiant heaters and coil radiant heaters.
