LyondellBasell Moves Closer to Achieving its 2030 Renewable Energy Target

LyondellBasell entered into two new Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) in the United States in December. This move will elevate the company's total secured renewable electricity to 1,366 megawatts (MW), accounting for 89% of its objective to acquire a minimum of 50% of its electricity from renewable sources.

The company has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 125 MW of renewable electricity from TotalEnergies' Brazoria Solar project in Brazoria County, Texas. The 15-year agreement is anticipated to produce around 300,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of solar power annually, equating to the yearly electricity consumption of over 28,000 American homes. The project is planned to start its operations by the end of 2025. This movement marks the second PPA of the company with TotalEnergies.

Eaton invested $100 Million for the expansion of the Texas grid component manufacturing unit

Power management company Eaton initiated the construction of a $100 million expansion at its Nacogdoches, Texas manufacturing unit in October 2023. This project aims to double Eaton's production capacity for voltage regulators and three-phase transformers to meet the increasing demand from utilities for solutions that accelerate grid modernization.
